Brenda Mertes –
Becky is a very personable and fun instructor who takes the time to train each person in her class, making sure everyone understands the importance of the how, when, where and why.
She stands next to you watching and advising (never degrading) on jabs, punches, kicks and getting out of holds against your will.
Becky is thoughtful on any of her students limitations.
I have taken 2 of her classes and enjoyed them both very much.

The self-defense class really is a “must take” for anyone of any ability level. Not only do you learn necessary physical skills to be able to defend yourself but also so many things to think of, and be aware of, that I never would have thought of on my own.

During Becky’s self-defense class, she teaches you tools to help defend yourself if you ever find you are in that situation. You learn the importance of safety and how to avoid potential circumstances. She gives guidance and encouragement in her class and helps to create muscle memory so your response will be automatic.
I highly recommend her class whether you are male or female, young or older. I feel more empowered after completing her class.

Very happy I continued to the next level and signed-up for “Self Defense Conditioning”. Becky reviews what you learned in the first session and continues from there. She is personable and each week asks if anything/situations came up since the last session that you want to discuss.
She teaches what you can do to remove yourself from potentially dangerous situations as well as quick actions when you are physically being threatened. Hopefully, you will never find yourself in this situation but if you do, you will have the tools to defend yourself and show the attacker you will NOT be an easy victim!

I highly encourage everyone to take attend Becky’s classes. I took two of her classes and loved them both (Self Defense Fundamentals and the 6 week Conditioning).
I had no training or skills in self defense prior to the classes, and I wasn’t sure if I’d be cut out for them. I left both classes feeling empowered, strong, and confident. I now have the tools/skills to defend myself and the knowledge on how to avoid potential unsafe situations. Her classes truly are for anyone, any age or abilities.
Becky is an excellent, knowledgeable teacher. During the sessions, she also pays attention to us as individuals and provides helpful feedback that boosts our confidence and improves our moves.
